Brighouse Bay and Carrick Bay have everything holiday makers could ask for! Set in a quiet and picturesque peninsula, it is one of south west Scotland's hidden gems!  The Bays boast magnificent views over the Irish sea and Murray Isles and they are surrounded by 1200 acres of great walking country.  There are also safe and sandy beaches for those hot sunny days, cycling routes including the Seven Stanes, fishing, sailing, windsurfing, horse riding and bird watching to mention but a few.  The area is also a natural wildlife haven, with areas of the shorelines being SSSI-Site of Special Scientific Interest, mainly due to rare irises and flax, Knatter-jack toad, rare newts, raptors, divers, hare, deer, pheasant, otters and mink.  Keep your eyes open and you may also see seals basking or swimming in the bay.  For those who enjoy a game of golf, there are numerous golf courses including the championship course at Southerness.  There are many more beaches in the area and if you would like more info on these please just ask.
